Client for SAP R/3 (AC4SAP), which provides solutions from light
Web-client for operating with SAP R/3 data to a gateway of data exchange
with external applications. The main result of
AC4SAP implementation is decreasing of the SAP R/3 total cost ownership.

AstroSoft Client for SAP R/3. In February
2003 AstroSoft completed development of the second version of AstroSoft
Client for SAP R/3 (AC4SAP) representing a set of solutions for working
with SAP R/3 data. The main advantage of AC4SAP
implementation is decreasing of the SAP R/3 total cost ownership. AC4SAP
implementation allows to simplify considerably user work with SAP R/3
data, leads to minimization of user forms development expenses and to
reducing system requirements to client workstations. The basis of this
solution was formed by SAP standard technologies that use business logic
and SAP R/3 data integrity rules. It is achieved by means of using SAP
DCOM Component Connector and Business API (BAPI) - the open standard
interface to SAP R/3 business objects.
Functionality of the new AC4SAP version is considerably extended in
comparison with the first version of the product. Now AC4SAP application
allows to realize chains of transactions, automatically creating a number
of documents stipulated by company business logic (for example, creating
an order is automatically accompanied by invoice formation). The second
version of the product allows applying RFC-functions developed by ABAP-programmers
of the customer.
AC4SAP can run with SAP R/3 system under several scenarios. The
scenario of a Light Web-client gives possibility to users performing
simple operations that nevertheless demand SAP data access to work through
Web-forms. For its implementation AC4SAP contains visual software tools
which allows creating the user's Web-forms with effective and simple
interface without any code line. Thus, it is enough to have only Microsoft
Internet Explorer on workstations of end users. As the Web-service
realized with .NET technologies, AC4SAP allows the remote clients
(partners, customers, contractors, etc.) of the companies possessing SAP
R/3 system to be linked and work with SAP data from within an arbitrary
desktop application or a Web-application. In this scenatio it is also
possible to work with R/3 data in any MS Office application. Finally, the
new version of AC4SAP can be a gateway for external applications and
allows not only the third companies’ applications but special programs
generated by customer to interact with SAP R/3.
Moreover, the important complement of AC4SAP v.2 is the synchronization of
AC4SAP Repository with SAP R/3 Business Object Repository under any
regular modifications (updates, patches) in SAP R/3 system.
Today AstroSoft Client for SAP R/3 v.2 is the deliberate solution
based on high technologies that allow to upgrade it in future and to
integrate SAP R/3 data with other enterprise application systems.
