The last few weeks for me (DK:Jnr) have been focused on TechEd08 in Australia, and NZ.

Background: For the last few years Microsoft Australia has held a separate developer event focused on Windows Mobile & Windows Embedded called MEDC (Mobile & Embedded Dev Con).

This year we have decided to combine the Mobile content into the full 3 days of TechEd08 Australia, and have added a TechEd Pre-Day for Windows Embedded. This means we are looking to run a "virtual stream" focused on Windows Mobile & Mobility solutions, spanning Developer, Management, Database/BI, Security and UC topics.

Here is a draft list of the sessions we are looking to run (note: some of the details may change), and the core tracks they fit into;

Client & Management

  • Overview of Managing Windows Mobile
  • System Center Mobile Device Manager Deep Dive 1: Security & Device Management
  • System Center Mobile Device Manager Deep Dive 2: Mobile VPN

Database & Business Intelligence

  • BI in my Pocket
  • SQL Compact Edition: Connection not Required

Developer Tools & Technologies

  • Windows Mobile Development 101
  • Mobile Application Architecture & Guidance
  • Designing Web Applications for Windows Mobile

Security

  • Mythbusters: Top 10 Windows Mobile Security Issues
  • Windows Mobile Security Deep Dive

Unified Communications

  • Windows Mobile: Overview & Roadmap
  • Office on the Beach - an industry panel discussing the future of mobile computing
  • Exchange Server, Office Communications Server & Windows Mobile: The Ultimate Ingredients for Mobile UC
  • Smackdown! (see the video at Johann's Unified Communications blog)

Over the coming weeks I'll post some more detail on the sessions, give an overview of how you could progress through these sessions @ TechEd08 Australia, and interview some of the local & US based experts who'll be presenting.
