LSMW Optimization Whitepaper

Moving from BDC's to IDocs/BAPIs provides you multiple advantages: 1. Avoids going through SAP screens for posting application documents. BAPIs / IDocs do not go through screens hence are incredibly faster than regular screen based BDC sessions 2. With BAPIs / IDocs, you get the features of using Simulation & parallel processing helping you get a cleaner final load & also reduce SAP load time. We will see both these features in this blog 3. SAP provides a bridge to convert a Business Object Repository (BOR) into an LSMW Idoc. This means if you do not conventionally find an IDoc for your application object in the LSMW repository, you can check in the BOR & convert this into an LSMW object. We will see that in the next in this series of my whitepaper.
