How to install an external ABAP add-on software component created with the tool Add-on Assembly Kit (AAK)

SAP has certified partners who are conformed to the ABAP add-on certification requirements and utilize the AAK to package and deliver their add-on software component. How do you install the delivery add-on from the front-end PC? Here is the step-by-step guide 1.Log on to your installation SAP system in client 000 as a user with administrator rights 2.Call transaction SAINT to install third party add-on component 3.Choose the menu path ‘Installation Package  Load packages  From Front End’ The ‘Select CAR/SAR archive’ window opens 4.Select the SAR archive file stored on your hard drive and click Open 5.Select ‘Decompress’ the PAT file to unpacked the SAR archive file and click ‘Start’ 6.Choose ‘Continue’. If all the required conditions for importing the add-on are met, the system displays the relevant queue 7.The queue includes the installation package. To start the installation process, choose ‘Continue’ 8.It starts the installation and displays the progress of the installation. If the installation was successful, the Finished installation button is highlighted 9.A screen includes information regarding the OCS package that need to be Imported, Click on ‘Continue’ button to import the OCS package. 10.On successfully completion of the above steps, a screen would appear indicate that the OCS package is successfully imported. Troubleshooting •If an error occurs during the installation phase, SAINT: Stops the installation Displays a dialog informing you about the error You can now: Directly view the log file by choosing View Logs Try to solve the problem Continue the installation by choosing ‘Continue’ Cancel the installation •If an error message ‘No OCS files found for uploading” is displayed after step 6, your SAR built application level is different than the one that you are installing. Make sure that the release and the support packages of the installed system must be identical with the system that created the add-on component.
