SAMS Tech Yourself
SAP in 24 hours
We
always had a quiet chuckle (actually a loud laugh) at the
preposterous title of this SAP book.
In spite of this it remains a
best seller on this website so we decided to buy it and take a
look at it. We do definitely in fact think it's worth the money,
but the title of this SAP book might be better "introduce
yourself to SAP R/3 in 24 Hours.
Now in its third
edition!
Who should read it:
Everyone who is starting out on SAP
This is one of the
few SAP books we have read about this subject to make any real
sense.
Chapter 9 on it's own makes this SAP book worth reading (it
offers a matrix which combines ERP maturity with E-Business
maturity).
Chapter 10 is also great as it discusses migration
strategies (moving from one quadrant to the next).
Who should read it: Executives with strategic decisions to
make, client business and technical managers responsible for
the implementation, and senior consultants.
Another book by the recommended
author Grant Norris
Who should read it: Executives with strategic decisions to
make, client business and technical managers responsible for
the implementation, and senior consultants.
Written by a team of
experienced consultants, this SAP book is an excellent overview of
the key issues and decisions which will need to be made when
deciding to select SAP, and also while implementing it.
Who should read it: Executives with strategic decisions
to make, client business and technical managers responsible for the
implementation, and senior consultants.
Based on a study of
20 companies who have implemented SAP R/3 in North America, this
SAP book covers the technical, business and change management
issues of implementing SAP R/3.
Coming from a change
management background, the author does an excellent job of
describing some of the pitfalls and strategies in that area.
Who should read it: SAP Implementation team managers and
members, especially (but not only) the change management team,
and consultants.

Other SAP books we have
not read yet, but think they are likely to be particularly good
anyway as they are published by SAP Labs (an SAP company)
