5.0 Other connectors with SAP
Other connectors used with SAP are
the DCOM (Distributed Component Object Model) Component Connector
and the SAP Java Connector.
The DCOM component connector is a
means for technical interoperability of SAP components and COM
components (written in VB, Java, C++, Cobol, Delphi or any other
COM-compliant language) on the basis of Microsoft´s DCOM.
The SAP Java Connector is a
toolkit that allows a Java application to communicate with any SAP
system.
The drive to automate and
integrate business processes is never ending. Operational and
technical constraints to integration have high costs that hinder the
growth and acceptance of data exchange standards. XML offers a more
flexible and cost-effective platform, which has dramatically lowered
the entry barriers to integration. The SAP Business Connector is
fundamental to secure for efficient access to all services necessary
to develop a complete business solution. It constitutes a framework,
which allows information to move into and out of Business
applications. This Internet Business Framework seems poised to
bridge the gap between the traditional ERP systems and Internet
frontiers.
